The Catholic Church is now celebrating a Jubilee Year of Mercy. It’s a time to grow in trust in the mercy of God.
“Indeed, God did not send the Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. ” – John 3:17
But immediately Jesus spoke to them and said, “Take heart, it is I; do not be afraid.” – Matthew 14:27
“Do not think that I will accuse you before the Father” – John 5:45
Jesus straightened up and said to her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?” She said, “No one, sir.” And Jesus said, “Neither do I condemn you. Go your way, and from now on do not sin again.” – John 8:10-11
“Return, says the Lord. I will not be angry with you; For I am merciful, I will not continue my wrath forever. Return, rebellious children, says the Lord.” – Jeremiah 3:12, 14a
“But you are merciful to all, for you can do all things and you overlook people’s sins, so that they may repent. For you love all things that exist and detest none of the things that you have made.” – Wisdom 11:23-24
“God is love.” – 1 John 4:16
“Do not be afraid, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.” – Luke 12:32
Be kind to one another, compassionate, and mutually forgiving, just as God has forgiven you in Christ. Be imitators of God as His dear children. Follow the way of love, even as Christ loved you. He gave himself for us as an offering to God, a gift of pleasing fragrance.
John Leary is a layperson from Rochester, New York. He started receiving daily messages from Jesus over twenty years ago. I love reading the messages and I think they’re really from Jesus. The Lord often comments on the scripture readings of the day’s mass, current events and teaches about spirituality.
John Leary was a friend of Maria Esperanza who said that his messages are authentic. Every message he receives is approved by his spiritual director and he is obedient to the Church as is proper for all private revelations.
Sister Anna Ali, a professed sister of the Pious Union of the Daughters of the Good Shepherd in Kenya was visited by Jesus several times. He gave her messages and pleading for the conversion of mankind. She took a picture of the Most Blessed Sacrament exposed in the monstrance and this image appeared. These messages are church approved.
John 19:34, “but one soldier thrust his lance into his side, and immediately blood and water flowed out. ”
Saint Catherine of Sienna was a mystic. She could talk to Jesus. She once asked,
“Sweet, Spotless, Lamb, You were dead when Your side was opened. Why, then, did You allow that Your Heart should thus be wounded and opened by force?”
“For several reasons, of which I will tell you the principal. My desires regarding the human race were infinite and the actual time of suffering and torture was at an end. Since my love is infinite, I could not therefore by this suffering manifest to you how much I loved you. That is why I willed to reveal to you the secret of my Heart by letting you see It open, that you might well understand that It loved you far more than I could prove to you by a suffering that was over.”
Increase your prayer life by praying the Divine Office. The Divine Office is a prayer the Catholic Church makes together throughout the day. It is mostly prayed by clergy and religious but a lot of lay people pray it too. It is based on the psalms but also has scripture passages and sermons by the saints. By praying throughout the day you can sanctify the whole day and God can tell you so much and convert you. Praying it in the morning and evening is good for most working people but a lot of monks pray seven offices throughout the day even chanting the words slowly. I have found great spiritual fruit in this practice. I always pray better when I use the book which is called a breviary but you can pray it on a tablet or streaming audio through this website.
Archbishop Fulton Sheen wrote a terrific book about the good news of the gospel called Peace of Soul. He says that all men experience a natural restlessness in their hearts that can’t be pacified by indulgence in our passions. Only God can give us peace and only in Him can we rest because we are made for eternity. That is why people who don’t believe in God are in a panic to live fast and die young. Also, Mother Teresa said that the fruit of being loved is joy and the letter to the Galatians says that the fruits of the Spirit are love, joy and peace. Archbishop Sheen also says that those who deny Christ or distance themselves from Him do it to quiet their conscience by telling themselves they’re not living in their sin. Their guilty consciences can even lead them into fanatic hatred for the faith because it reminds them of their guilt and their imminent death. Here are some great quotes from the book. Archbishop Sheen is one of the greatest Catholic thinkers and he’s a 20th century American.
In this video I talk about how God’s mercy brings peace to the soul. I also talk about how great the Blessed Mother is and all the good things She does for us. Just how many ways in which She helps people clean up their lives.
This video, Science Tests Faith, explains some incredible phenomena. First, Nancy Fowler, the visionary of Conyers, Georgia prayed for a spiritual sister. Katya Rivas came from Bolivia to Conyers and stayed with Nancy while she had a vision of Jesus. Katya then bought a statue of Jesus for her sister. The statue began to bleed because it is Christ depicted during His passion. The statue and the blood were analyzed and the phenomena was found to be miraculous. Similarities are drawn to a Eucharistic miracle in Argentina, where the Sacred Host turned into blood and flesh from the heart of a man. Also considered was a Eucharistic miracle in Lanciano, Italy where the Sacred Host and Precious Blood turned into physical flesh and blood. In all three miracles, the blood had a higher white blood cell count than usual, which shows that tissue from which the blood flowed was trying to heal from undergoing a beating. Also, although the blood was proven to be human, it has no personal profile because it is of divine origin, not human. The video also looks at the locutions and stigmata of Katya Rivas who became the spiritual sister Nancy Fowler prayed for. She receives locutions in four languages and records them faster than any of us could think of them. She couldn’t have made them up because she doesn’t speak those other languages. She doesn’t have a high school education. Reporters came to investigate her stigmata and the Lord gave them a message to “Come back on the Feast of My Body”. On the feast of Corpus Christi, Katya experienced many of the symptoms of crucifixion. Pierced hands and feet and asphyxiation. It was all recorded on camera with medical professionals in a hospital recording all the data. The next day her wounds were perfectly healed and she was back to normal.
The Science Tests Faith DVD and the messages of Katya Rivas are available at
The nuns of the congregation sisters of Loreto prayed to Saint Joseph to finish building their chapel with a staircase up to the choir loft. Incredibly, a lot of people think Saint Joseph personally appeared and did it himself. This is an incredible story of Saint Joseph’s providence in personally helping the sisters.
This double rainbow appeared on the feast of Divine Mercy 2012 at a Divine Mercy shrine in the Philippines. The statue is 50 feet tall and the rays are staircases into the heart where the is a chapel with Eucharistic adoration.
Saint Maria Faustina Kowalska is a Catholic mystic, prophetess and nun who lived in Poland between 1905 and 1938. God’s mission for her was that she was to proclaim the messages and visions she received from God to the whole world. The messages are all about God’s mercy. He is calling souls to trust in Him. The two necessary miracles required for her canonization were met. Both were miraculous healings. You can read about them here:
Her diary has sold over 800,000 copies worldwide. She is one of the greatest saints of the Catholic Church. These are some of the messages from her diary.
“In the Old Covenant I sent prophets wielding thunderbolts to My people. Today I am sending you with My mercy to the people of the whole world. I do not wish to punish aching mankind but I desire to heal it, pressing it close to my merciful heart. My hand is reluctant to take the sword of justice. Before I come as a just judge I am coming as the merciful savior.” (Diary 1588)
Jesus told Saint Faustina in the diary “Let no sinner be afraid to approach me.” He said of those who trust in the mercy of God, “I shall protect them Myself at the hour of death, as My own glory. And even if the sins of the soul are as dark as night, when the sinner turns to My mercy, he renders Me the greatest praise, and becomes the glory of My Passion. When a soul praises My goodness, Satan trembles before it and flees to the very bottom of hell” (Diary, 378).
